Focus and Scope

The journal accepts articles on a broad spectrum of themes on humans, environment and development, with contemporary social and cultural perspectives. In terms of spatial coverage, priority is given to articles which cover local and regional issues.

  • Poverty, socio-economic injustice and solutions: job opportunities, labor, land, micro and small businesses, and social entrepreneurship.
  • Development of assets, institutions and financial capabilities.
  • Impact of environmental ruination on social, economic and cultural life.
  • Social relations and segregation based on ethnicity, race and religious beliefs.
  • Politics, institutions, civic participation and community participation.
  • Gender justice and women's empowerment.
  • Youth life and anxiety in an increasingly competitive world (a typical social issue for Generation Z and Alfa).
  • The new state capital city in East Kalimantan and issues related to it.
